Summer Salad Luncheon fund raiser
To benefit their Charitable Projects program, the Catholic Daughters of Court St. Anthony #330 held their annual Summer Salad Lunch on July 14th. The social hall of St. Peter's church was decorated in pastels and party balloons for the event.
Many members of the court worked diligently to make the lunch a success under the supervision of member Linda Spencer.
Over 160 people from the Council Bluffs community came for lunch and fellowship and naturally, good homemade food from the court members. The event raised over $1,000!
Proceeds from this fund raiser will go to the Charitable Projects program of the court, benefitting many local organizations including the Phoenix House Domestic Violence Shelter, Birthright, Catholic Charities, Linus Blanket Program for children in crisis, Gabriel's Corner, Wings of Hope Cancer Support Center, Boys and Girls Club, Micah House, and Habitat for Humanity. Saint Albert Catholic Schools and the five area Catholic parishes also receive donations for their children's programming and religious education. National projects that the court donates to are Morality in Media, Voices for Life, and Smile Train.
Raffle winners were:
Scentsy Candle Basket: Joan Goeser
$50 BP Gas card: Pam Feuring
$15 TJ sport vendor card: Dr. Schierbrock
$15 Titan card: Lois O'Gara
Thank you to everyone who helped with the luncheon and who attended.

Charitable Projects
Stations of the Cross Project
Our court will support the Stations of the Cross project at Saint Albert school through the efforts of Boy Scout Matthew Veit. We have donated $500 for station #14 in honor of our blessed Mother.
Ronald McDonald House donation
Our 2010-2011 court charitable project through our monthly meetings is to donate pop tops to the Ronald McDonald House in Omaha. At each meeting, members will bring their collection of pop tops to add to the court collection. The Ronald McDonald House takes the donated tops to the recycling center for cash to support their program.
Court Members Volunteer at Clean Sweep
Our court volunteered at the annual Clean Sweep project for Keep Council Bluffs Beautiful during Celebrate CB week on May 11. Members helped register groups and individuals who cleaned litter from across Council Bluffs. They also handed out the T-shirts and the food for the cleaners. It was a wonderful opportunity for our court to be involved in a civic project. Thanks to all who volunteered for us.
Life Saver Sunday Collection Benefits Phoenix House
As part of our Charitable Projects program, the Catholic Daughters of Court St. Anthony #330 collected donations from the Council Bluffs parishes for Life Saver Sunday. Parishioners donated over $1,500!
60% of that goes directly to our Phoenix House Domestic Violence Shelter in Council Bluffs. The remaining 40% goes to the Iowa Catholic Daughters to be disbursed through the 4 Iowa dioceses for their Domestic Violence programs.
Thank you to everyone who helped with the collection and who donated so generously to help us stop domestic violence.
Court Supports Parish First Communion Programs
As one of our court's youth programs, we designate funds in our budget to donate to the five local parishes for their First Communion programs.
Recently the following donations were made (according to the number of students in each parish's First Communion class): Queen of Apostles $210; St. Patrick's $117; St. Peter's $54; Holy Family $36; Our Lady of Carter Lake $15.
It is our hope that contributing to First Communion programs will show these students how important we believe this time is for them and how we join in their celebration! God bless them all!
